About the Pick-Up Artist 2 Online Casting Call

Last summer, the controversial Pick-Up Artist debuted on VH1 and eight lovable losers had the opportunity to learn Mystery’s famous “Mystery Method”— a step-by-step system to meet, attract, and seduce beautiful women.

The Pick-Up Artist is back for a second season and eight new misfits will live together, learn together and love together by taking part in Mystery’s tried-and-true techniques - all under his guidance.  Eight men will be chosen, but only one will emerge as the Pick-Up Artist and win ultimate prize: $50,000.

We're hosting a virtual casting call, and whoever survives the elimination rounds and then gets the most votes will land themselves a place on The Pick-Up Artist 2!  Do you have what it takes to master Mystery’s techniques?  Or are you just a below average frustrated chump desperately in need of Mystery’s help?  Whatever the case may be, don’t hesitate to register and create your profile right away.  Once you’ve done that, post videos, photos, and blogs that show us what makes you deserving of Mystery’s expert guidance.  Your goal is to make it to the last casting round and win the most votes and thus a spot on the show!

Are you a real-life “artist” yourself but know of someone that can use the Mystery Method? Feel free to nominate a friend in need!  If your lovelife is on lock but you have a friend who's fiending, check out our "nominate a friend" option! You'll upload their picture, fill out their profile - we’ll take care of the rest! Your loveable loser will receive their personal log-in credentials to your friend-created profile. From there it’s then up to them to prove they deserve (and need) love lessons from a master.  Because everyone deserves a shot at romance even if they're too shy to step up!

(1) You must be 21 years or older and a U.S. citizen to register to audition.
(2) Log on to our website and create your profile, post videos, photos, blogs, (rounds specifics link).
(3) Convince us to vote for you.
(4) The more often you post, the more opportunities we have to love you. So post early and post a lot. This is all about you.

Overview

There are four (4) rounds, and each has its own content requirements. The casting process is loosely based around the skills needed to be a successful pick-up artist.   Each round with the exception of Round 4 will have requirements to upload a mixture of videos, photos and blog posts to convince the public to vote for you.  Only one cast member from the site will be chosen. 

Round 1 – The Pitch (March 17 to May 4)

Similar to openings pick-up lines, the theme of this round is “the pitch.”  Capture the attention of the “Pick Up Artist” community and demonstrate why you should be chosen over all the rest!  Then, tell us a little about yourself in your blog and pick some tags for your profile.

Round 2 - The Story (May 5 to May 7)

Tell us something interesting about yourself.  Whatever you decide to share is totally up to you!  It can be as simple as what you did last summer, something funny that happened to you, to your best/worst pick-up adventures.  The more you share about yourself the better – we want to get to know your personality and what makes you tick.

Round 3 – The Closer (May 8 to May 9)

Any good pick-up needs a sales pitch to seal the deal!  This is your last chance to demonstrate why you need Mystery’s help and rally support from your friends online.  Go all out!

The top 3 vote getters from round 3 will move on to Round 4, which is a blind voting round.

Round 4 – The Finals (May 9 to May 12)

The final round!  The top 3 hopefuls from Round 3 will move on to Round 4.  For this final round, the top 3 user’s vote counts will be set to zero.  Vote counts will be suppressed, meaning you won’t know who wins until the premiere of The Pick-Up Artist Season 2!

Additional requirements:

If you are among the top contestants with the most votes, to remain in the competition, you will also have to sign a contract and consent to the following testing; background, psychological, and medical. The producers will contact you and give you all the details. You must pass all the required testing to remain eligible to become a cast member.

Round Details

Round 1 – The Pitch
March 17 – May 4
Open call, all submissions accepted until the end of the day on May 4.

•    Upload a video, 3 minutes length maximum
•    Any format is acceptable (doesn’t have to be confessional-style) which answers the following                questions:
       •  Who are you?  What is your name, age, occupation and hometown?
       •  Just the facts:  Have you ever appeared on a reality show?  Which one?
       •  If you could have one of Mystery’s pick-up skills, which would it be?
       •  Why should Mystery choose you over the other candidates?  Feel free to say or do anything
          that you think will convince him.
•    Profile requirements:
       •  About Me:
           •  We want to make sure you put your new pick-up skills to good use!  Describe your ultimate                date (just keep it PG-13 please!).  Where would you go and what would you do? 
       •  Photos:
           •  You must upload at least 3 photos of yourself, and one must be a clear headshot.
       •  Tags:
           •  You must enter a minimum of 5 tags for your profile

Round 2 – The Story
May 5 – May 7
50% remain after second round, based on votes from site members.

•    Upload a :60 second video
•    Confessional face-on-style: 60-second introduction video which answers the following question:
        •  No girl wants to date a bore.  What make you unique?  Tell us a one-minute long story about                yourself that you think would capture the interest of a woman.
•    Profile requirements:
        •  About Me:
            •  What, if any, was the boldest pickup move you ever made?  How did it turn out for you?
            •  Aside from applying to reality TV shows, what are your interests?  What do you do for fun,                    what kind of movies and music do you like?

Round 3 – The Closer
May 8 – May 9 - 6PM ET
The top 3 from Round 3 will move on to the final round, Round 4  

•    Upload a :90 second video
•    Confessional face-on-style: 90-second video which answers the following questions:
        •  What will be the biggest challenge you see yourself facing if you make the show?
        •  Everyone has their “thing” or that special something.  What’s yours?  Tell us about a personal            trait will be your “secret weapon.”
•    Profile requirements:
        •  About Me:
            •  If you make it to the show, and win, you’ll win $50,000 in cash, in addition to learning   pick-up                skills from the master himself.  How will you spend your prize money?
            •  Why should site members vote for you?

Round 4 – The Finals
May 9 – May 12 - 6PM ET
The top 3 from Round 3 will be featured on the homepage.  Their vote counts will be set back to zero and their vote counts will remain hidden.  The winner will be revealed on the season premiere of The Pick-Up Artist Season 2!

After every round we’ll notify those advancing to the next round. Then it's time to vote again giving you more time to move up that fan ladder earning you the one and only, coveted, Biggest Fan spot!
